Marketing is hard to do ooooo oooooo
AHHHHH one of the hardest challenges I face as an author is promoting my work. I am published with an independent publisher who has put my work out there a bit, but not enough in my mind. I understand that I didn't publish with a large publishing house that has unlimited funds for marketing but I want my book to be in the hands of every sci-fi dystopian romance reader out there! How do I accomplish that? I run my social networks, I host contests and attend festivals but it doesn't seem like it's enough. I try my best to network with as many authors and other individuals in the publishing world, but I want, no I need more. I've worked my tail off writing my book and now I want the world to know about it. I will continue to do all of the above but I need to find other resources, there has to be more than I can do, and so with that I am off to find a solution to my problem!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! If you're in the need of a great read make sure to check out my book Torn True Love. Here is a little excerpt from my work, check it out!!!!
When Chance and I started dating, I really thought he had potential. I considered a future with him, but after our tremulous relationship, my friends were right, it could never work. He didn’t take anything seriously and had pushed me aside for a girl well beneath me. He wasn’t going to pair and there was no way I was going to end up becoming a Sweeper.
Being a sweeper was basically a death sentence. The lowest unit in our society consisted of Sweepers. They held the lowest jobs, which required little to no education, and none of the work at that level provided a good quality of life. Sweepers were placed due to being unpaired or if they resisted the government. Apparently Headquarters didn’t believe you had a lot of worth if you were unable to pair and didn’t reproduce. Reproduction was key to keeping our society alive and thriving. If an individual didn’t see it that way, they were put to use cleaning up after the rest of us. I couldn’t rely on Chance to be a good pairing. I knew I deserved better and was certain I could find it.
I needed something more concrete. I only had two years left until I was paired, and at the end of this year I needed to provide a preliminary list.
I was stressed but I believed in the process. I had faith that in the next two years I would find and be paired with my true love.
"How’s it going, Kris?" Chance asked, trying to act cool in front of his friends.
"I’m fine, how are you guys?" The four of them, Chance, Braiden, Tobin, and Pax, didn’t look like the type to be friends. Chance wore his signature look of layered shirts with a twisted rope necklace around his neck. Tobin had a more reserved, conservative look. Pax was a small kid
with dark hair and brown eyes who wore sweatpants and an old tee shirt. Then there was Braiden. Braiden had dark short hair, striking green eyes and a well-defined jaw. His face was long and oval, beautiful yet rugged. He had a look that stole my attention from all other things.
Chance and Braiden had been friends for a long time. Chance used to always talk about him when we were together, and I had seen Braiden on several occasions but I guess I never really paid attention. I only saw Chance, paying no attention to any other male prospects out there. Today however, was different. Today, for the first time, I saw Braiden. There was something different about him now, his smile, or his laugh. Something drew my attention.

And the title is.....
Hello followers~
I've decided to release the title to the second book and it will be....wait for it.....
Tore
Divided Love
The process behind the title....
So both this title and the first books title are in the present tense. However once you get to the second book the main character, Krissa, is no longer being pulled apart-she is apart. It seemed appropriate that the first book now seems to be in the past tense. She once was being torn, in different directions, but now she becomes divided. One part wants to go one way while the other half wants the other way~ therefore being TORE.
Hope you love it!!!

Festival Fun!
This weekend I had the privilege of taking part in the YALLFest experience in Charleston, SC. Blue Bicycle Books hosted and YA book festival that brought in HUGE names from the YA world (Veronica Roth, Ally Condie, Lauren Oliver and many MANY more). I was so thrilled to part in this wonderful event. I was able to meet some amazing writers, but more importantly so pretty kick ass YA readers. The event surpassed every expectation that I had, and I look forward to the possibility of returning next year. I can't wait to find more festivals that I can take part in and continue to share my work with YA lovers everywhere!!!

Reviews, Reviews, Reviews!!!
As the reviews are rolling in from my first release, Torn True Love, I find myself holding my breath as I read each one. I know that everyone will not love my work, or connect with my characters, but it still is a bitter pill to swallow when a reader hasn't LOVED your work. I have put many many many!!!! hours into my book and a review that says anything but I LOVED IT is hard to hear. (I must say too I haven't heard anything too negative *phew thank god!*) But on the flip side of that, I respect what each person has to say about my work. Feedback helps me understand how others view my work. It's interesting to know what they would've changed, what they had expected and where they want the story to go. I already know how my story unfolds and while I value what my readers say it won't alter the story in my head.
The publishing process as a whole has been fantastic- I just hope my readers continue to respond positively and enjoy my work as it comes their way.

Rebel Anniversary!!!
In honor of Rebel Ink Press celebrating their third anniversary we're talking "summer lovin". While I've had many "summer loves" I'd like to focus on books I've read and loved this summer.
My favorite of the summer has to be The Selection by Kiera Cass.
I re-read Insurgent by Veronica Roth and I am impatiently waiting for the third book in the trilogy.
I also read the last book in the Chemical Garden Trilogy, Sever, and I would have to say it was my favorite in the Series.
Lastly, I have to say the most exciting release for me this summer my was own work, Torn True Love. Failures, triumphs, love and broken hearts can all be found in my read. Check it out for yourself!!
Enjoy the last bit of summer and may you never feel Torn!

11 chapters down!
I have finished the first eleven chapters that my editor has sent to me. I feel very good about this. I was not prepared for how extensive the edits were going to be. With that being said, I'm so thankful to have such an amazing editor behind me. Can't wait to get through the last twelve!

Another step to getting published.
I recently was assigned my editor at Rebel Ink Press and I quickly came to learn that Jenn Torres is an editing goddess. She sees things that I've overlooked for years. She's given me some fantastic insight on how to perfect my story. I am so thankful to have her guidance and experience to help me along in the publishing road. I have made it to chapter 7 (getting the most accomplished while my kiddos sleep) and hope to keep it moving! So far my experience in the publishing world has been fantastic and I attribute that to my amazing publisher Rebel Ink.

And here it is......
Everyone has a choice. Abide by the government’s rules and regulations and you may live the average life or become a Sweeper. Krissa Channing knew her choice and her destination was clear until Braiden entered her life and clouded her future.
Krissa’s future, which once seemed so promising, is compromised when her relationship with Braiden is forced by the hands of the government. The pressure of an automatic pairing pushes them both down a path they never dreamed they’d travel.
While Krissa accepts the change, Braiden revolts against the government leaving Krissa alone, her heart torn. Should she follow the rules and regulations and continue down the road mapped out for her? Or should she go against everything she’s been taught and follow after her true love?
